Battle of Midway – 75 Years
On June 4, 2017, it was 75 years since the Battle of Midway took place. To commemorate this I had the idea of building as many of the participating aircraft types as possible — in the end managing to include all types listed in the battle order on Wikipedia. This is the story behind each individual plane I built, with several pictures of every model.
This is not a complete account of the Battle of Midway, even if I have tried to keep things in roughly chronological order. There are several books and many articles available if you want the full story. Here I focus on the tale of each individual aircraft — my take — illustrated by the models I built.
