The Sea Fury was the last propeller-driven fighter to serve with the Royal Navy, and arguably the finest. Developed too late for the Second World War, it went on to distinguish itself in Korea where Fleet Air Arm pilots even managed to shoot down the occasional MiG-15 — no mean feat for a piston-engined aircraft facing early jets.
This is one of those cases where Airfix have chosen a subject that doesn't always get the attention it deserves, and their 2018 tooling does it justice. Good fit and fine detail mean the time goes into actually building and painting rather than remedial work — exactly how it should be. Placed on a carrier deck base it sits just right.
