The Hunter is widely regarded as one of the most aesthetically pleasing jet aircraft ever built — clean, balanced lines that somehow managed to look fast even parked on the ground. It served the RAF throughout the 1950s and 60s as a front-line fighter before transitioning to the ground attack role, and went on to fly with a remarkable number of air forces around the world, Sweden among them.
Airfix released this F.6 in 2019, and I snapped it up — only to discover that the following year they would release an earlier mark with Swedish decals. At that point I committed to building this one straight from the box, which turned out to be no hardship at all. Like most recent Airfix releases it comes with fine detail and excellent fit, and it was a pleasure throughout.
