Most commercial figures tend to depict soldiers, and almost invariably men — which is perhaps exactly why I'm drawn to the more civilian subjects, and especially female ones. This one may be armed, but she's a police officer, and that's close enough to civilian life for me.
It was an enjoyable build with a satisfying problem-solving element: the chequered band details and the POLICE lettering required a bit of creative thinking, but a laser printer turned out to be the answer. Sometimes the simplest solutions are the best ones. I also put some extra effort into the base — the cobblestones and the ground-in chewing gum may be small details, but I think they're the kind of thing that lifts a figure from a model into a little scene.
