The British-designed Hawker Hart began as a reconnaissance aircraft but found its niche in Swedish service as a dive bomber, plunging almost vertically toward its target to release bombs with precision. Sweden operated 45 examples as the B 4, some fitted with skis for winter operations. Four B 4s served with the volunteer wing F19, formed when the Soviet Union invaded Finland in 1939.

This aircraft, individual number 714, was built under license by ASJA in Linköping in 1937. It was delivered first to F1 Västerås, then moved on to F4 Frösön and F6 Karlsborg, also flying with F7 Såtenäs and F9 Säve before retiring from service in 1947. It never served with F19 itself, but is marked here to represent the B 4s that flew in the Winter War — including the blue swastika, the Finnish Air Force's national marking at the time, not to be confused with the Nazi hakenkreuz.
